Ford is one of the leading participants in the electric mobility market, as seen by the success of its

first-ever attempts in the all-electric sector with the wildly popular Mustang Mach-E and F-150

Lightning. However, the current platforms for Ford's ICE products represent the foundation for both

of these modern offers. The Ford Focus C2 platform, which was substantially modified for use in the

Global Electrified 1 (GE1) platform, underpins the Mustang Mach-E. The F-150 Lightning

on the other hand, is supported by a modified version of the F-150's P Platform.

The electric Explorer is Ford's third effort at an all-electric vehicle, and unlike the company's first two, this one is built on an all electric chassis.

this Volkswagen-derived chassis into the Explorer EV is a significant step forward for Ford's future EV aspirations.
