The first all electric car from the partnership between Ford and Volkswagen is the Ford Explorer EV.
In order to produce commercial cars, the two venerable manufacturers started working together in January 2019.
A few months after beginning this collaboration, the two companies decided to build
Ford-branded electric products using Volkswagen's very adaptable MEB electric platform.
According to that agreement, the two firms agreed that the Ford EV stood out significantly from
Volkswagen's ID-branded EVs built on the MEB platform.
Ford revealed that the first electric vehicle (EV) to bear the Blue Oval badge will be created and developed at Ford's manufacturing site in
Cologne, Germany, as part of this unusual American-German partnership.
