Due to the launch control technology and the twenty more horsepower the Durango produces

than the Cadillac, it immediately took the lead in the first race.

The Durango's benefit from being lighter (by around 500 pounds) was also significant

The matte purple Durango's launch was flawless with the launch control system, and there was no mistaking

the Durango's athleticism as it streaked over the finish line about half a second quicker than the Escalade.

It defeated the big Cadillac by two to three vehicle lengths in the inaugural drag race.

The team prepared for a rolling start after the standing start to see if it would benefit the Dodge over the higher-revving CT5-V Blackwing engine.

The 710 horsepower available and the crazy torque curve, though, stood out above the Cadillac's power.
