The Ford Explorer has a muscular, athletic stance and has a tendency to rear back like an American

sized sport wagon. A roofline that sweeps back and has an incorporated spoiler squeezing the rear

end is complemented by tasteful cladding over the rounded wheel arches and rocker panels.

It's not very outrageous, but this attractive confidence should hold up over time.

There, it receives a 6 for a point.

Boxy vents and an 8.0-inch touchscreen give the cabin a truck-like feel

but accent stitching cannot save the basic black-on-black design.
